
Obituary of Geraldine Matwechuk
It is with heavy hearts we announce that on June 29, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Geraldine (Gerri) Matwechuk (Prince Albert, SK), She passed away at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. She passed away after a courageous 10 year battle with Guillain Barr’e Syndrome. Geraldine was born in Gronlid, SK on January 17, 1937.
Geraldine is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Linda Matwechuk; grandson, Travis (Taryn) Pilon; great-grandchildren, Rilynn, Luca Pilon and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Bill Matwechuk; parents, John and Anna Korol; sisters, Evangaline (Pete) Kott, Marie (Ben) Shabaga, Bella Tessier and Helen Walmsley; niece, Mary Ann Radchuk; nephew, John Walmsley; great-granddaughter, Adrianne Pilon
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jackie and her team of nurses in the emergency department at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. We would also like to thank the staff at Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon for the 8 years of care they gave mom. Another thank you to Pete Radchuk for his support and compassion.
Public visitation will be held at 10:00am on July 5, 2025 at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Graveside Service to follow at 11:00am on July 5, 2025 at South Hill Cemetery, Marquis Road and, 1 Ave W, Prince Albert, SK. Family asks if you have any Toronto Blue Jays attire to wear it to the service.
