Obituary of Jesse Enes Clark

On September 27, 1945, a bouncing baby boy was born to Evan and Margaret Clark, they named him Jesse Enes Clark. He was the second son of six siblings. Jesse was one of those kids that people liked to be with. He had a sunny disposition, and although he teased his younger siblings mercilessly, everybody loved to be around him. Jesse and his older brother, Jimmy, were inseparable and did everything together and they got into the type of mischief that only two young brothers can get into in a small town.

While living in Salt Lake City, Jesse met his first wife, Judy who had two young children, Jimmy and Jolyn. Jesse embraced and raised the children as his own. While married to Judy, they made the decision to move their family to Prince Albert, SK. Jesse and Judy had a bouncing baby boy of their own, Evan Michael Clark. Jesse worked as a painter with his brother-in-law and later went to work at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for 12 years. Following the ending of his marriage in 1988, Jesse took the opportunity to be a Foreman on the restoration of the Cardston Alberta Temple. His many talents and experience were instrumental in the restoration of the temple. After this was completed in 1991, Jesse returned to Prince Albert and made plans to move back to the United States to be with his family and join his son Evan, living in Salt Lake. Jesse and Evan found a place to live together, and Jesse utilized his many skills and talents doing various jobs. Evan eventually moved in with some friends, and Jesse returned to Prince Albert, where he went back to work for the Penn for another 23 years.

The worst day of Jesse's life came when he was notified of the death of his cherished son Evan. Jesse was devastated and never fully recovered from such a tragic loss.

In March 2012 he met Mary Anne. They dated for three months and were married on June 9, 2012. On April 27, 2024, Jesse and Mary Anne were sealed for all time and eternity in the Regina Temple. They had both Evan and Alaiza, Mary Anne’s daughter, sealed to them as an eternal family.

Jesse held many callings and was a devout servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Throughout all the trials in his life, he never lost faith in his savior.

On April 1, 2023, Jesse was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. For two full years, Jesse fought valiantly but finally succumbed on July 6, 2025, passing away peacefully in the presence of his wife, daughter and brother.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; daughter, Alaiza; son, Jimmy (Carmen); daughter, Jolyn (Greg) York; granddaughter, Alicia (Cody) McMillan; granddaughter, Taylia (Austin) Hanson; grandson, Cody; granddaughter, Jessica (Dane) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Cashton Brax and Lennie; sister, Shanna (Mick) Velasquez; sister, Sydra Clark; brother, Jodie (Corrine) Clark; brother-in-law, Mike Mitchell; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved son, Evan Michael Clark; parents, Evan and Margaret Clark; older brother, Jimmy Clark; and younger sister, Shelly Mitchell.

Mary Anne and Alaiza would like to offer their thanks for all of the love and support to the Utah Clarks, Mary Anne's brother and family, their Church Ward Family, Jesse's co-workers at CORCAN, Mary Anne's co-workers at Birchview Home, the nurses and doctors at the Cancer Center and Chemo Department at Victoria Hospital as well as the home care palliative nurses.
