
Obituary of Linda Rose Holmevik
Linda Rose Holmevik (nee McKay), late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert, SK. Linda was born on April 4, 1953, at her grandmother’s house in Leask, SK. She grew up in Davis, SK, where she attended Island Lake School, followed by Osborne School and PA Technical High School. On January 27, 1973, she married Roger Holmevik and they would share over 50 years together. Throughout her life, Linda was a hairdresser, photographer, funeral celebrant, and an avid member of Toastmasters for a number of years, however her most cherished role was that of Mother and Grandmother.
Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger; her daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Friesen; her son, Michael; her grandsons, Matthew, Colton and Logan; her great-grandson, Noah; her siblings, Hilton (Faye) McKay, Blanche (Danny) Nickel, Elton McKay, Shirley (Fred) Bird, Lorna McKay (Wayne Remy), Richard McKay, Patricia Ford (Mark Miller), and Carol (Les) Linton; her brother-in-law, Donald Holmevik, her sister-in-law, Debbie (Mike) Zapotoczny, her sister-in-law, Bonnie Holmevik (Brian Lemecha); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Wilfred McKay; her in-laws, Evelyn and Haakon Holmevik; her brother, Milton McKay; her grandparents, Philomene and Isidore LeDoux, and Dora and Roderick McKay; her special aunt, June Bodnarchuk; her nephews, Marc, Joey and Adam; her niece in infancy; as well as many aunts and uncles.
