Jean Moskwa

Obituary of Jean Gladys Moskwa

Jean Gladys Moskwa, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Herb Bassett Care Home in Prince Albert, SK.

Mom was born at home on April 1, 1932, at her parent’s farm in Fir Ridge. She attended Birson and Cecil Schools. On April 23, 1950, she married Frank, and they began farm life together in Cecil where they raised their five daughters.

Mom was never idle. The best cook and baker ever, she even received many trophies for her bowling. She always fed unexpected guests, not just a snack, but a full meal was prepared for all to enjoy. Jean worked hard on the farm and would travel into town to sell eggs and cream. She also liked to sew, bowl, play cards, socialize, and joke around with her signature dry sense of humor. At times she also enjoyed visiting the casino to try her luck. Additionally, Jean was very involved in the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League of Canada, and she received a Certificate of Appreciation for her contributions.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by  her daughters, Gail (Merv) Smith and their children, Matthew, Lori (Kevin) Young, Kelly (Rhonda); Elizabeth (Chuck) Chapelle and their children, Murray, Jennifer (Dale) Tolley; Sharon Gosselin and her children, Pheonex (Shaune) Lutzko, Athena, Joshua (Kristine); Terry (Glen) Berg and their children, Zenon (Andrea), Courtney (Jeff) Murias; and Donna (Roland) Boutin and their children, Desirae (Jelane), Ariel (Aaron) Van Ee, Megan; great grandchildren, Makaio, Sage, Siella, Jordan, Braydan, Darian, Jade, Kira (Lincoln), Justice (Emma), Tyson, Kevin, Katie, Zakk, Madison, Rylan, Makenzee, Archer, Jason,  Patrick, Brodie, Tatyana, Gabriel, Garrick, Valene, Avery, and Kaliyah; great-great grandchildren, Elsie and Kyler;  sister, Margaret (Orest) Wasutyk; brother-in-law, Kazmier Ruszkowski; and sisters-in-law, Kay Tokar and Emily Maskwa.
