Obituary of Celine Alice Beaulac
Celine Alice Fortier was born to Henri-Paul & Alice Fortier on January 31, 1957. It was a very cold winter day.
She was raised on a farm with her 5 siblings: Alfred, Yvonne, Aurelie, Vincent and Diane. Growing up on the farm was busy; there were always cows to milk and chores to help with.
Celine met and started dating Adrien in high school in 1974 and they married in 1979. They were blessed with three children: Rachelle, Jillian, and David.
Celine’s first career was in nursing. She got her R.N. degree after graduating from high school. She worked at the Saskatoon University Hospital for 2 years in the prenatal ward. After their marriage, Celine & Adrien moved back to Debden then later to Elaine Lake. In ’85 Celine & Adrien bought and moved to their farm.
Celine started work for Canada Post in 1988, eventually becoming Postmaster, where she met and got to know so many people. Celine walked to her moms for lunch every day. They were very close and cherished their time together. Celine retired from Canada Post when she turned 60.
Celine’s pride and joy was her family. She was extremely proud of her children but when the grandkids came along – well, that was something really special. She adored Beau, Alex, Dyllan, Noah, Kaleb and Thomas.
When Celine’s mom moved to the Manor, she spent many days there caring for her. They would play crib, laugh together, and spent many holidays and celebrations together. The love she had for her mom was undeniable.
The final venture in her life was joining the Friends of the Manor. She really enjoyed this volunteer work. She loved visiting the residents. It became her second home, again making many friends.
In November of 2024, Celine was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The prognosis wasn’t good and her battle with cancer was relatively short. She passed away at home with her family by her bedside on September 1, 2025.
Celine made many friends through her lifelong journey. We learned just how generous and caring these friends are and we are very fortunate to be living in a caring & compassionate community.
Celine was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can say. We will carry her with us-in our hearts, in our stories, and in the way we care for each other moving forward. That’s her legacy. That’s her love.
Celine is survived by her husband of 46 years, Adrien; her daughter, Rachelle (Denny) Little and their children: Beau and Dyllan; her daughter, Jillian (Norm) Poirier and their children: Alex, Noah, Kaleb and Thomas; her son David. She is also survived by her siblings: Alfred (Aline), Yvonne (Barry), Aurelie (Keith), Vincent and Diane (Sandy); her siblings in law: Clem (Marianne), Jocelyn (Roger), Mitch (Helene), Gerry, Murielle (Paul), Henri (Lise), Leanne, Charlie (Alanna); numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Henri-Paul & Alice Fortier; her parents-in law Leo & Rose Beaulac; her brother-in-law Johnny Beaulac; her sisters-in law Verna Beaulac and Lynn Fortier; her niece Sheena Fortier.
The family wishes to thank Nurse Practitioner Nancy Tenkink for her compassion, guidance and exceptional care for Celine throughout her illness, as well as the Shellbrook Home Care team who made it possible for Celine to remain at home. Thank you to all of Celine’s friends and family who took time to visit. We’d like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the good thoughts & prayers that were received throughout her difficult journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Celine to the Friend of the Manor (Box 387 Debden SK S0J 0S0).
