Obituary of Henry Anderson
It is with sadness the family announce the passing of Henry on July 19th, 2011. He was born in Wiseton, Sk on October 22, 1922, Henry was the third oldest of twelve children born to Roy and Clara Anderson. He helped his Dad farm until he enlisted in the Armed Forces in Regina on February 6, 1943. He served in the Second World War and was awarded the France & Germany stars and the Canadian Volunteer Service medal. He was discharged on April 1, 1946 with the rank of Corporal. Returning to civilian life Henry worked in road construction and continued farming. He loved the outdoors, trapping and raised mink for a time. Henry moved from the farm into town in 2002. Henry leaves to cherish his memories: his sister; Evelyn(Pat) Harty , Edam, Sk, his sister-in-law: Norah Anderson, Big River, SK: his brother-in-law: Gordan Gamble, Medstead, SK and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his parents: Roy and Clara Anderson, his brothers: William, James, Kenneth, Alfred, Bruce, and his sisters: Kathleen, Florence, Shirley (Roy) Sharp, Myrna Gamble, Eileen (Albert) Hannam. Funeral Service for Henry was held Sunday, September 4th at 10:00am from the Big River Community Hall. Interment followed at the Big River Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Lakewood Lodge Auxiliary.
