Allan Peake

Obituary of Allan Charles Peake

Allan Charles Peake , late of Leask, SK. passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Wheatland Lodge care Home in Leask, SK.

Allan Charles Peake was born on November 7, 1953, to Charlie and Shirley Peake and grew up on the family farm south of Kilwinning.  He loved his pets and animals on the farm and of course learned to drive at an early age.  Allan was especially excited to het his drivers license as soon as he could.  He left school at an early age and worked for a few years close to home before moving on.  Allan worked various jobs in Saskatoon and Rosetown and then on to Calgary where he spent quite a few years.  He got his Class 1 license and drove truck over the years.

In the early 80’s, Allan homesteaded on a quarter of land near Nampa in northern Alberta where he lived until he returned home in 2020.  Life would have been hard there as he lived off the grid with no running water or electricity, burning wood to heat his small cabin.  Allan was strong willed, but independent and able to support himself with odd jobs and raising some hogs.  Being born with club feet left him with some disabilities, but that didn’t stop him.  He lived life on his terms and accepted the challenge given to him.  Allan was fortunate to have some very good neighbors and friends that helped him along the way.

Allan is survived by: His brothers Ralph (Elaine), Ron (Gwen), Bruce (Kathy), and Boyd.  His nephews and nieces Tara (Butch), Brenton (Emma), Michael(Erin), Linelle, Jodie, Curtis, and Erin as well as several cousins.

Allan was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Shirley, an infant sister Rhonda and his nephew Trevor.

There will be a private graveside at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Allan's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation ( 2300 Yonge St. Suite 1200, Box 2414, Toronto Ont. M4P 1E4). Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lynn Anderson Funeral Director, Shellbrook, SK 306-747-2828.
