Maureen Merasty 1951-2013 It is with great sorrow that the family of Maureen Merasty announce her passing on Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Royal University Hospital Saskatoon, SK after a brave battle with cancer. The Wake Services for Maureen commenced in the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall on Sunday, December 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Maureen will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall with Rev. Marj Hyman as officiant. The Eulogist will be Kevin Peekeekoot. The Honorary Pallbearers will be "Her loving grandchildren and all who shared in her life".The Pallbearers will be, Alex Ahenakew, Wayne Ahenakew, Jerry Greyeyes, Bill Merasty, Bjorne Ledoux, and Kevin Peekeekoot. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The interment will be held in St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery on Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
