Obituary of Emil Drieschner

Emil Drieschner 1933 - 2014 Born March 23, 1933, to Clara and Max Drieschner. Emil was born at home in the Medstead District and was the third born in a family of five. Emil had 2 older sisters, Erma (Kuchler), Holly (Grant) and 2 younger sisters Betty (Bonsan) and Wanda (Snorro). Emil grew up in the Guyhirne School district. Emil met Kathleen (Kay) Simpson at a dance in Glenbush in May 1956, and love blossomed just like his favorite apple blossoms. They were married December 27, 1956. Their first home was on the Schultz farm, in the Medstead district. In 1957, they bought the Palko farm. They farmed close to Cater Lake where they would enjoy fishing and spending time with Erma and Karl Kuchler playing cards, visiting, and drinking coffee. Emil enjoyed farming and raised 5 boys Kelvin (1957), Gary (1960), Lloyd (1962), Wayne (1964) and Keith (1974). They outgrew their original farmhouse on the Palko farm and in 1969, Roger Schneider, Emil’s brother in law, dug the basement for the new house. The New house went up in 1970, providing much needed space for the family. This is the house Lloyd and Lee-Ann live in now. Emil loved the outdoors. He never missed an opportunity to go fishing and loved to go to La Ronge to spend time on the houseboat. He enjoyed camping and spending time visiting by the campfire. One of his favorite things to do was to pick apples and berries. Kay, the wonderful cook made him many pies, jams, jellies & syrups. Emil enjoyed trips to Florida with the Grants where he especially enjoyed the fruit trees in the Grants back yard. Christmas was always a wonderful time for Emil. He always fed the animals more on Christmas Day, and the more people that came for Christmas Dinner the happier he was. Emil was a gentle soul who appreciated the simple things life had to offer, which are also the best things life has to offer; fishing, camping, fires, visiting, doing puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his wife, his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Emil leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Kathleen, his children:~ Kelvin (Mardee) and children: Andrew, Meagan;~ Gary (Arlene) and children: Erin (Andy) Mitchell, Daniel (Taylor), Beau; ~ Lloyd (Lee-Ann) and children, Amanda (Paul) and children, Kyra and Coby, Lauren, Cody; ~ Wayne and children: Evan (Vanessa) and son, Jaxson, Ashley (Myles) and children, Tianna and Sophie, his daughter-in-law, Lisa Drieschner, his sisters: Erma Kuchler; Holly (Fred) Grant; Betty Bonsan; Wanda (Frank) Snorro numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
