Sorry for such a late message of sympathy. I'm reaching out to you because I'm trying to connect with long lost family members. I've done some research and found out that my grandmother - Elizabeth (Meyer) Schurman from Denzil, Sask. was a sister to Joseph R. Meyer(s) and an aunt to Lorne's father, Joseph John Meyers. My grandmother came to Canada in 1911 and lived with her brother's family for a few months at Koblentz (renamed Cavell), Sask. She and my grandfather, George Schurman were married on August 1, 1911. He had a homestead close to the Meyer farm at that time. She passed away suddenly on February 13, 1920, leaving behind seven children including my mother Elizabeth. My mother was aware of her mother's family and she knew that they had moved to Rosthern. Unfortunately, no effort was made to stay connected and our families drifted apart.
I'd love to hear from someone on your side just so I know that I have at least found you again. My mother was the last of her family to pass away (October 23, 2013). I am her only son but I have several cousins still alive and kicking. Thanks for your time.
