Obituary of Mary Unrau

Mary Unrau (1916 - 2007), passed away peacefully on January 8, 2007. Born in Aberdeen, Sask., she died in Big River, Saskatchewan. Mary homesteaded with her husband Jacob and her children in the Rapid Bend District for a number of years. For the last (approximately 4 years) she resided in the Big River Lakewood Lodge Nursing Home. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Tena Boyle of Prince Albert, Sask.; Mary (Dwight) Phillips of Edson, Alberta; Bill (Gloria) Unrau of Jasper, Alberta; Sarah McKibben of Prince Albert, Sask.; Henry (Kim) Unrau of St. Albert, Alberta; Margaret (Bert) Wilkins of Mayerthorpe, Alberta; Abe (Judy) Unrau of Parkside, Sask.; Ann (Marcel) Arcand of Prince Albert, Sask.; 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sister Ann Thiessen of Spiritwood, Sask., her brother Dave Rhode of Alberta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents John and Katherine Rhode, Jacob, the father of her children, an infant son Jacob, as well as numerous brothers and sisters. A funeral service was held January 12, 2007 in Big River, Sask. Final resting place is Lake Four Cemetery.
