I just heard the terrible news.. I worked with Rodger in the early 2000s. I was his girl!!! We had a great friendship, I have lots of fond memories of him. We made wings and watched Queer as folk, it was our ritual...I visited him shortly after he moved his store to 3 rd ave. We reminisced about all the thing we used to do... I will forever be greatful for the friendship we had he changed me as a person.. I am truly saddened for your loss, Rodger was one of a kind....Rest easy old friend...

To Rodger's family,
I just learned of Rodger's passing today and was shocked and saddened, so can only imagine the loss you feel.
Rodger was my hair stylist first, then we became friends. We had many long and interesting conversations about life and family, goals and aspirations. He didn't suffer fools, and asked no less of others of what he asked of himself.
He had a great flare for style - really Saskatoon was too small for him. The last time we had coffee, more than a year ago to my great sadness, he looked amazing and was in fine Rodger form.
He wrote to me a couple of months ago, I was happy to hear from him. He talked about being happy, having hung his sheets out on the line and the fresh smell the sheets would have, kind of like when he was a boy.
I am hopeful that he was surrounded by loved ones when he passed.
Sincerly,
Renee Gavigan

Hello,
I have just found out about Rodgers passing this morning. First, my condolences for the loss to the entire family.
I met Rodger through business dealings in Saskatoon, and he soon became more of a friend to me. He had a larger than life presence where ever he went, and he will be sorely missed in the community.
Again, my condolences in your loss. I really enjoyed my time with him, and always looked forward to a coffee, cocktail or just chatting whenever possible.
All the best,
Ian

I was so sorry to hear of Rodger's death this morning. We had lost touch but I remember his great haircuts and his fabulous parties. It is his kindness that I think of today-when my Mom broke her leg he went to her condo with treats and did her hair at her kitchen sink. When another friend was diagnosed with cancer he helped her pick out wigs and felt he should have known that something was wrong because her hair wasn't growing. And who else but Rodger would help my daughter pick her outfit for her Communion. He took beer to the auto body shop when he had his car serviced- something I have never heard of anyone doing. May he rest in peace! Kind regards and sympathy to those he left behind. Kenna Mac Mahon

Dear Jeffrey family,
I am so saddened to learn of Rodger's passing. I just heard today. I am one of those few good friends you thoughtfully mentioned in the obituary. I have known him for about 20 years in Saskatoon and have long appreciated his private and unique nature. I think I was one of the few he would talk about his family with, and my heart goes out to each of you as his siblings, nieces and nephews. You were important to him. I received an email from him a couple of months ago that seemed like a good bye. He walked a difficult path and was a loyal friend to our whole family. Please know our thoughts are with you. We will miss him.
Sincerely, Ruth Kinzel (Pierre Cadrin, Nik and Anya Kinzel-Cadrin)

I always enjoyed our colorful visits when he would come into the gallery or when we would meet for cocktails/coffee. He always had grande dreams and I only hoped that he could have fulfilled them. He was so fun loving and took pride in his presentation. He was a good friend and I will miss him. Will there by a special service in his honor? I would like to be notified if there is.
