Obituary of Kay (Kate) Berg

- It is with deep sadness that the family of Kay Berg announces her passing on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the age of 85 years. She was born December 31, 1921 in Shell Lake, SK She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Darlene Wilm (Ed), Moira Busch (Dennis), Holly Proulx (Arthur) and Jacquie Taylor; her sisters Mabel Hotvedt, Fay Brewer (Lloyd); a brother William Reed (Colleen); her grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her husband Henry Berg; her parents William Sr. & Mabel Reed (Russell); her stepmother Asta Reed (Hotvedt); her sister Alice (Burrows); her son's in-law Ted Sokolowski & Walter Taylor; her brother's in-law Cliff Burrows & Henry Hotvedt; and her nephews Phillip and Russell Burrows. A celebration of Kay's life was held on Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at 11a.m. from the Shell Lake Lion's Hall, Shell Lake, SK with Pastor David Jensen officiating. The music director was Bill Martodam and the hymns were In The Garden and Take My Hand Precious Lord. Gloria Skeene read the eulogy. The Legion Members formed an honor guard and the honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Kay's life. The urn bearer was Janet Clark. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan. Kay was laid to rest at Memorial Gardens in Prince Albert, SK.
