When I saw the picture of Mervin at PANOW I felt I knew him and felt the strong urge to read the obituary. It was then that I came to the conclusion that I must have been in grade eleven in 1958-59 when Mervin was finishing up his last year in Canwood High School. In any event, I remember that young man who everyone felt was so good looking, and the good humor and friendly disposition that he carried with him. My recollection is that he had a smile on his face just about all the time. I do not recall seeing Mervin since that year in high school, so the fact that i remember him all these years later is a testimony to his being a remarkable individual. He had a special presence about him, and I can feel how terribly he will be missed by the family and friends. Please accept my most heart-felt condolences.
