Obituary of Edith Betsey Carolina Grimm

It is with extreme sadness that Delores has said goodbye to her beloved mother, Edith Betsey Carolina Grimm. Edith has left this world to be re-united with the love of her life, Orville on December 10, 2015 at the age of 90 years with her loving daughter at her bedside. Edith was born to Albert and Anna (Peterson) Carlson on January 13, 1925 in Canwood SK. She is survived by her devoted daughter Delores and her son Delbert, her sister-in-law Ruth of Winfield, B.C. and her nephew Erland of Vancouver B.C. and her nieces and nephews on the Grimm side of the family. She was predeceased by her husband Orville in 1990, her twin son in 1954, her parents, Albert and Anna Carlson and her brothers, Ole and Clarence Carlson. Mom was a hard working farmer’s wife who always enjoyed growing a large garden each and every year and preserving many jars of vegetables, jams and jellies for winter use. She also enjoyed baking cookies and was often known to give away many bags to her adopted grandson, David. Another one of her greatest joys was to pack a picnic lunch and spend a Sunday afternoon picking blueberries and cranberries. Edith also enjoyed playing bingo, cribbage, Norwegian whist, hand and foot canasta and doing word search puzzles. When she was first admitted to Pineview Terrace, she often amazed the nurses and care aides by having hardly finished her last mouthful of food and she had her word search book in her hand ready for the next puzzle. Delores would like to extend a sincere thank you to Edith’s caregivers, Rey, Grace, Jennifer, Darlene, Leslie and Talwinder and good friends Jean, Glendis and Doris.
