She leaves behind to mourn her husband, Daniel Schindel of 30 years; her daughter Wendy-Jo (Brent) Brewer of Shell Lake, SK, and their children Kaitlyn, Kennadi and Kyle; her son Warren (Carol) Mierke of Warman, SK and their children Braydon Lee, Nicolas and Emily. Her stepchildren Sharon Schindel Columpsi of Calgary, AB her children Curtis (Paula), Aimee (Dan) Kehler, Sofia (Adam) Seward; Larry (Aurilda) Schindel and their children Stuart (Hyejin) and Michelle (Sheldon); Dennis (Roxanne) Schindel and their children Jordan (Megan), Landon (Jennelle) and Kelli (Tanner). Josephine was predeceased by her first husband Lawrence Mierke; her step-grandson Michael Columpsi, her parents Robert “Ted” and Blanche Carr and her brother, Robert Carr. Josephine was always there in support of those she loved and the things that were close to her heart. Josephine was not one to seek the limelight, but she was always contributing, putting her God given talents to good use. She planted, watered and tended the flower pots on the streets of Jansen and faithfully biked in the Terry Fox Run each year. Josephine worked with her husband Lawrence as they raised their young family, then after Lawrence’s passing at an early age she had to pick up the pieces of her life and move forward. She found love and companionship with her husband Daniel, where they lived in Jansen, farming with Dan’s sons and tending their large garden. Josephine loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Josephine was diagnosed with ALS in September of 2015, her unwavering faith in her Saviour Jesus and the love and support of her family, friends, and the Central Parkland Lodge caregivers helped her fight right until the end. She never faltered or complained, her silent strength always moved her forward. Josephine will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. A private family service was held in honor of Josephine with Reverend Jack Robson officiating. She was laid to rest in the Watson Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Josephine may be made to The Terry Fox Foundation or the Jensen Memorial Garden.
