Obituary of Marcel George Freychet

Marcel Freychet Marcel passed away peacefully on Monday September 19, 2016 at the Hafford Special Care Centre, with family members by his side. He was born January 3, 1931 to Henri and Jean Freychet in Melfort, SK. Marcel took his schooling in Melfort and did a few odd jobs as a young man, he then started his plumbing career with Thorpe Brothers in 1951. Marcel and his sons started Anchor Plumbing and Heating in the late 80’s and continued to operate until his retirement in 2003. Marcel’s life would be forever changed when he joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1981, the support he received as well as the legacy of him sponsoring many along the way will always be remembered. During Marcel’s retirement he enjoyed the cottage at Emma Lake, and spent a lot of his time on coffee row with the “guys” at the Lake Country Cottage every morning. Due to failing health Marcel moved to Hafford Special Care Centre in 2013, where he received exceptional care from all his caregivers. Marcel will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Linda Creighton and her family Jaimie (Jamey) Samson and Jen Creighton; daughter Jan (Bill) Cej and family Cory (Amanda) McShannock, Chris (Tracey) McShannock, Carmen Willington, and Steve (Cecila) Cej; daughter Sandy Mayer and her son Brandon (Chrystal) Mayer; son Daniel (Kathleen) Freychet and their daughter Danielle Freychet; his daughter-in-law Terry Freychet and her daughter Jackie (Patrick) Worobetz; his son-in-law Allan Creighton; and his 11 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Marcel was predeceased by his son Jack Freychet, grand-daughter Pam Robillard (Freychet), son-in-law Wyatt Mayer and his children’s mother Evelyn Freychet. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday September 26, 2016 at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Christopher Lake, SK with Father Dj Vu officiating.
