Marusia, i was saddened to learn of Gene's passing. I got to know Gene when he and Ernie undertook to prepare economic development plans for some of the Indian bands north of P.A. that i was responsible for as Director of Economic Development, in the period 1985-92. I found Gene to be a sincere, conscientious practitioner for whom I quickly developed a professional respect. Our relationship as professionals transitioned into one of friendship as we moved forward, and Gene always had time to talk whenever we bumped into each other. He had a likeable quality that quickly endeared him to people, perhaps because he could so easily put a person at ease. I will miss Gene. My condolences to you at this difficult time. Phil Parr
May he rest in peace. I was not aware, during our last few phone conversations, just how ill he was, Our lives separated us for many decades, but I remember our times togetherquite warmly...especially ouryoung years in YellowCreek High!
Sincerest sympathy goes to you Marussia. We met at Mohyla Institue where Gene became a great friend of my late husband. He was a groomsman at our wedding. Time heals the loss but the memories remain forever.

Marusia, we were saddened to hear of Gene's passing; he had such an energizing and upbeat personality and, with his ongoing sense of humor, always made me feel better for any of the contact I had with him. Norma is away to her daughter's home in Georgia now but I hope to attend the funeral to pay my respects in person; knowing Gene, I expect it will be a large crown of family and friends that have felt his impact on their lives.
So sorry to hear of Eugene's passing.
He was a great person, a great friend......and leaves a lot of great memories.

I am saddened to learn of Gene's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Marusia and family in these difficult days. I know the wonderful memories of Gene's life will bring some comfort to you. I recall working with Gene during my time in Prince Albert and seeing first hand his dedication to education. He was really one of the good guys who did great things in a very humble way. I remember selling Gene my old red truck that he used for many years "being a farmer". We enjoyed many fun conversations about the joy and frustration that truck gave him. Rest well my friend, peace to your family.
