Obituary of Marcel Francis Sanderson

Marcel Francis Sanderson 1945-2016 Sadly, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, Mr. Marcel Francis Sanderson, late of Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, passed away in the Shellbrook Hospital at the age of 70 years. Marcel was born on November 27, 1945 to Elizabeth and Francis Sanderson on Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. The Wake Service for Marcel commenced on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation School Gymnasium. On Friday, Nov., 25, at 11:00 a.m. the Funeral Service took place in the School Gymnasium as well. Interment was in the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Cemetery. Marcel is lovingly survived by his life partner, Martha Sanderson; his children, Betty Sanderson, Debra (Sheldon) Sanderson, and Michelle Sanderson; his daughter-in-law, Leanne Sanderson; his sisters and brothers, Josephine (Alec) Kennedy, Karen Sanderson, Roy (Noreen) Sanderson, Bruce "Cigar" (Norma) Sanderson; a special nephew, Justin Sanderson; his grandchildren, Cree, Cody, Quentin (Cheyenne), Kiona, Tristin, Gina (Vince), Jennifer, Lucy, Theresa, Misty (Nate), Morning Sky, and Maskwasis; his chaps, Kaylea, Alexa, Hazel, Kesler, Amiyah and Patrick; as well as special friends, Randy Masuskapoe and Pat Cayen, and Eldon Orth. Marcel is predeceased by his son, Marcel Guy Sanderson; his parents, Francis Xavier "Guy" Sanderson and Elizabeth Sanderson; his sister, Eva Lillian Ledoux; his brothers, Johnny Sanderson, Patrick Sanderson, and an infant daughter; and his nephew, William Francis Sanderson. The active pallbearers for Marcel's service were, Cody Sanderson, Vincent Sinclair, Will Felix, Ian Felix, Quentin Sanderson, and Sheldon Head.
