Obituary of Theodore "Ted" John Bogner

Theodore "Ted" John Bogner October 3, 1960 - February 21, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ted (Theodore) Bogner on Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 at the age of 56 years in Big River, SK after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Ted was an incredible father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. These things brought him joy. He was the ultimate host, an avid outdoorsman and a committed member of the community. He loved a good whiskey, an entertaining story and any type of travel near or far. His magnetic personality helped him make friends wherever he went. Ted could fix or build anything. He was a man who took pride in his work, his yard, his famous steaks, perfectly cooked fish and a good shirt. He felt he lived a fairytale surrounded by the love of his life, a loving family and precious friends. He cherished this until his last breath. He spent his life caring for those he loved and his final wish was that those he loved most, take care of each other. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Bogner of Big River, SK, his children, Pamela (Kiel Wilson) Bogner of Big River, SK and their children, Taylor, Jackson and Ember, Dallas (Kayla Lindskog) Bogner of Lloydminster, SK and their children, Huxley and Ruger, Scott (Sherry LaPlante) Hartnett of Saskatoon, SK and their children, Kelly, Taylor, Abby and Sienna, Jade (Terrence) Boland of Calgary, AB and their children, Austen, Finn and Stella and Amber Hartnett of Calgary, AB. Ted is also survived by his mother Victoria (Ken) Leonhardt of Drumheller, AB, his siblings Valerie (Dale) McCallum of Sylvan Lake, AB, Rosemary (Gerald LaPlante) Bogner of Big River, SK, Vernon (Hanneke Hiemstra) Bogner of Duck Lake, SK, Lynn Bogner-Lomsnes of Big River, SK, Wally (Wendy) Wilson of Big River, SK, Gaye (Melvin) Lindskog of Big River, SK and Gina (Joe) Roland of Priddis, AB, his mother in law, Laura Wilson of Big River, SK. and a special aunt, Belroy Wirtz of Big River, SK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ted was predeceased by his father, John Bogner; brother, Terry Bogner; sister in law, Cindy Bogner and father in law, Max Wilson. The funeral service in honor of Ted was held on the 25th day of February 2017 at the Big River Community Hall with Pastor Jake McCrea officiating. Wanda and Ted’s special friend Bill Shoemaker of Pennsylvania gave the musical tributes. The eulogy was given by Dallas Bogner. George Ritchie gave the tribute.
