Welcoming him into the arms of Jesus were his loving wife Betty, his parents Jorg Ingman and Anne Knutson, his childhood siblings Irene and Knute, and his siblings of more recent years Marvin, Joseph, Knute and sister-in-law Audrey. Elvin will be forever missed by his children Duane (Colleen) Knutson of Shellbrook, SK, and his daughter Heather (Darryl) Filazek of Regina SK; grandchildren, Emily, Sabina and Declan Filazek. He will also be missed by his sister, Mable (Bob) Lalonde of Kamloops, BC; his brother, Arnold (Dorothy) Knutson of Salmon Arm, BC; and sister-in-law Barbara of Rabbit Lake, SK. Elvin was born near Mildred, SK on July 6, 1933. After completing grade 7 at Wild Bear School, he stayed home to help on the family farm as his older siblings were away working at various bush camps. In the 1950’s Elvin joined his siblings and cousins in the bush until he decided to stay and operate the family farm with his brother Knute. He retired from farming and moved to the homestead in 1991 and then in 2001, he moved into Spiritwood to help care for his wife at the Idyllwild Lodge. In 1963, Elvin asked Christ to be his Lord and Savior, and in 1974 he made a public declaration of his faith through baptism. Elvin was dedicated to the life of his church and his family. He enjoyed visiting family and friends over a cup of coffee, curling, and helping out with activities at the lodge.
