Dear Shirley and Family and Neil and Family,
Another one of my classmates from Grade One on is gone not to mention one from our longtime family friends... (I remember when I was nine Granny Yurach gave me a beautiful bracelet given to her by one of her daughters. She said that I was not to wear it till I was fifteen. I thought that day would never come!!) On the first day of school in Grade One Mom was walking with me and we met up with Marj and George. The decision was made that we two would go the rest of the way by ourselves. When we got to the schoolyard George ran off to play and I was left to continue this scary venture by myself!!!
Over the years I have been known to say that when I am back in Big River going to the store to pick up an item or two can take some time because of the visiting and catching up... George would bring me up-to-date on those I knew who had just been in town and maybe still were... the kind of service I thrived on... In more recent years we would still have those good visits whenever we'd meet up.
I cherish the memories...

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm also sorry that I am out-of-country for work and had to miss George's memorial service. I wish I could have been there to express my condolences in person. George, and the rest of your family, have been such a big part of our Swanson family's background and lives - and a huge part of so much of the good that happened in Big River. I'm so sorry for your loss - and for the loss all of us feel. I'm back in Canada in a week and hope to head up home shortly after that and to see some of you in person to extend my most heartfelt condolences. I will always remember George with great fondness and will miss him deeply. Lee Swanson

Please accept my sympathy in the loss of George. I remember my older cousins all being very indulgent of us when we were young and came to visit. Between working in the store and other tasks, there were always rides around to visit the farm, the lake, and time with family at barbecues in the yard. I always appreciated that. I know George was very involved in the community and the friends you have will miss him as well. May God bless you all.

Deepest condolences to Shirley, Shelley (Dan, Aaron, Shereena, Adam), Sherry & Randy (Blaine, Richelle), Sheldon & Veronica (Ariel) and all of George's family. George will live in the hearts of everyone who loved him and he will be missed by many. Thinking of you and ((hugs)) to all of you! I will remember his laughter, his teasing, sense of humor, his commitment to community, especially the days of the Rodeo and how hard George, my dad, and so many others worked to establish those Rodeo grounds, fun days. So glad we have been friends for over 45 years . . .

Our deepest sympathy to the Yurach family on the passing of their loved family member. George always had a nice smile and a "hello" whenever I saw him...we always managed to have a nice conversation about the bees/ and the cows or just the weather. We are glad he is with the Angels now...he will be missed.
