Obituary of Norma "Delphine" Ruszkowski

Ruszkowski- Norma Delphine (nee Campbell) late of Prince Albert, SK. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend. Delphine passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends on June 2, 2017, after her courageous battle with cancer. Delphine was born April 1, 1930 in Prince Albert, and was raised in Stanleyville. Growing up she loved sports and attending all the area Sportsdays. On May 2, 1947 she married Jacob John (Jack) Ruszkowski and he remained the love of her life for 52 years until he passed February 1, 1999. Granny’s life revolved around her family. She enjoyed doing for others & spent her time cooking, baking, sewing & going on “road trips” and attending her grandchildren, and later, great grandchildren’s events. She never missed a hockey game or a dance recital. Her favourite times in life were summers at her cabin at Emma Lake, always surrounded by friends and family and food. She loved playing Kaiser and cruising on the pontoon boat for fun or fishing. Delphine loved to be mischievous and enjoyed it even more when her grandkids would act up and she could sit back and laugh with them. Delphine was a caregiver to many, & never turned anyone away that needed a place to stay or a good meal. For over 30 years, she ran a care home for people with mental disabilities. She had a generous soul, they all became part of the family. Granny travelled to the Maritimes this past fall (which she was able to check off her bucket list), Florida and got her First Time to Disney World Button in March 2017, and was in Calgary for Mother’s Day. Granny was a courageous and dignified soldier until her last days. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Darlene Rawlinson; granddaughters Toddy (Ian) Sylvestre-Dallow of Edmonton, AB, Audra Rawlinson (Clint Ford) of Calgary, AB, Laurel (Troy) Hufnagel of Prince Albert, SK, grandson Ty (Lauralee) Rawlinson of Naples, Florida. Her eleven precious great grandchildren, Kyle Dallow, Lauren and Alexandra Ford, Karli, Mackenzie , Kade, Jackson and Gillian Hufnagel, Mackenzie, Karter Ambrosichuk and Bentley Rawlinson.
