Obituary of Clifford "Cliff" Lucas Samson

Clifford “Cliff” Lucas Samson June 26, 1930 – June 12, 2017 Clifford Lucas Samson (Cliff) passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Cliff is survived by his beloved wife Margaret; sister Luella Parenteau; children Janet (Brad) Dent, Craig, Cheryl, and Ron (Laurie); and also his beautiful grandchildren Courtney (Jason), Shandel (John), Daris (Breanne), Jordan (Danielle) and Brittany; and great grandchildren Natalie, Nerea, and Danika. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Ulrick and Lena Samson, and his brothers Chester and Ray. Cliff was born in Gull Lake, SK on June 26, 1930. His family then moved to Prince Albert shortly after, where he grew up and eventually started a dairy farm with his father and brother Ray, known as Samson and Sons. Cliff was an avid baseball fan. He played on the Riverside Royals with his brothers Chester and Ray and went on the win many provincial championships. He then met his loving wife Margaret and they married in 1960, raising four children on the farm where he grew up. In the late 1960’s he was hired on with the Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill (Weyerhaeuser) where he worked till retirement in 1992. Cliff was well respected as an employee and co-worker by all who knew him. Cliff loved to garden. Each year he planted a huge garden only to give most of it away to his family and friends. Cliff loved to watch the Blue Jays with his dog Mocha placed on his lap. In January 2017 Cliff was diagnosed with Cancer. He bravely accepted this and went on to fight a courageous fight against the cancer, which he did with dignity. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16 at 2:00pm at St. Michael Parish, 1505 13th Street West, with celebrant Father Michael Fahlman officiating.
