Obituary of Roderick Sexsmith
Roderick Sexsmith
1948 - 2017
It is with profound sadness Rod’s family announces his passing on July 11, 2017 at the age of 68 following a courageous battle as a result of complications from Diabetes.
After obtaining his Forestry Engineering Degree from UNB, Rod enjoyed a very gratifying career in the forest industry in Saskatchewan where he made many life-long friends and connections. He also had the pleasure of meeting and working with many people through his community involvement in various groups and associations over the years. To those around him, Rod was known as a kind-hearted and humble man who enjoyed a quiet life spending time with his family and friends and watching his sons and grandsons grow up.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 40 years, Lynda, his two sons Scott (Victoria) and Sean (Tanya), and his two grandsons Denton and Sam. He is also survived by his mother Florence, his sisters Wendy (Basil), and Susan and their families, and the rest of Rod’s extended family.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the homecare nurses, doctors, and staff of the Victoria Hospital and the St. Paul’s Hospital for their extraordinary dedication and commitment to Rod’s care.
The family welcomes you to join us in a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on July 17, 2017 at Par Place (3 miles west of Prince Albert on the Shellbrook Highway, Route 3/55) with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Rod’s generous spirit. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Beau "Lac" Funeral Home, Marianne Turcotte - Funeral Director, Prince Albert 306-763-3322.
