Obituary of Deedie Lomsnes

Deedie Lomsnes Apr. 22, 1943 - July 23, 2017 Lily Edith ‘Deedie’ Lomsnes was born April 22, 1943, Meadow Lake, SK and passed away July 23, 2017, Saskatoon, SK at 74 years of age. Deedie is lovingly remembered by: Her children: Del (Lisa) Lomsnes of Red Deer, AB and their children: Tanner and Kaitlyn, Ken Lomsnes of Big River, SK and children: Shelby (Brent), Matthew, Zachary and Lucas, Cheryl (Ryan) Gibboney of Calgary, AB and their children: Drew (Stephanie) and son, Ryder (Deedie’s only great grandchild), her siblings: Shirley (Adrian) of Big River, SK and Jaynell of La Ronge, SK, sisters-in-law: Geri of Red Deer, AB and Clarice of Big River, SK also numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by: husband, Andrew, brothers, Stan and Bob, her infant son, Don and infant daughter, Lana, parents, Henry and Marie Schneider, parents-in-law, Reidar and Anna Lomsnes, siblings-in-law, Leonard and Marlene Lomsnes, Peter Ross and Earl Beebe. The Celebration of Deedie’s Life took place on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm from the Big River High School Gymnasium, Big River, SK with Delores Beaulac officiating. Son Del Lomsnes greeted everyone in attendance, Lalayne Martel sang a musical selection for Deedie and family members Ken Lomsnes, Drew Osinchuk, Jason, Leanne & Dallas Beebe gave words of remembrance and tributes to her. Honorary Pallbearers were considered “All who have shared in Deedie’s life.” Urn Bearers we her grandchildren: Shelby, Matthew, Tanner, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Lucas. An Honor Guard was formed at the end of the service by many of Deedie’s Trucker Colleagues. Her final resting place is beside her husband in the Big River Cemetery, Big River, SK. Following the interment services the family welcomed everyone in attendance for a time of lunch and fellowship back at the Big River High School. Memorial Donations may be made to Big River Minor Sports or to the Big River Cemetery in Memory of Deedie Lomsnes as tokens of remembrance.
