Obituary of Victoria Vera Slonski

Victoria Slonski 1938 - 2017 It is with great sadness that the family of Victoria "Vicky" Slonski nee Boguski announce her passing on August 15, 2017 at the age of 79. Victoria was born May 1, 1938 on a small family farm northeast of Prince Albert, Sk. On June 25, 1956 Victoria married Adam Slonski and together they continued farming in the same area. Vicky was the purest definition of a hard working farm wife. No matter time of the day, our Baba had her hands busy. Whether it was with her seven children, the crops, cattle or garden, she was on the go from sun up to sundown. Years later, after Vicky and Adam moved into Prince Albert, she filled her time with her grandchildren, travelling to visit family and always making sure no one ever left her house hungry. There was no better cook in this world as our Baba. Our hearts are heavy with sadness but we know she is now in heaven. We hope the angels know what they have, because we certainly know what we have lost. Victoria is survived by her children Winnie (Paul) Allman of rural Prince Albert, Jenny (Marrion) Praski of Melfort, Brian Slonski of Tisdale, Phyllis (Terry) MacDonald of Saskatoon, Sheri (Jason) Duffield of Prince Albert and Brandi (Huw) Roberts of Saskatoon. Grandchildren and great grandchildren Ron (Di) Allman and son Colson, Tom (Lindsay) Allman and children Emily and William, Nancy (Mike) Simpson and daughter Ellie, Krystal Allman, Stephanie (Garth) Turner and daughters Baylee and Lucy, John Praski, Cory (Jessica) Slonski, Nina Duffield, and Maya Duffield. Sister Anna Podhordeski, brother-in-law Tom (Gloria) Slonski, sister-in-law Sophie Lupichuk, special friend and sister-in-law Rose Slonski as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Victoria was predeceased by her husband Adam in 2009, son Bobby, her parents, brothers Jim and Paul, four siblings in infancy including her twin sister Nadia, brothers-in-law John, Frank, Pete, Joe, Mike, Harry, Adam and sisters-in-law Joy, Pauline, and Helen, parents-in-law John and Maria. In lieu of flowers, please volunteer some time at a local senior’s home. Vicky spent her final few years at Samaritan Place Care Home in Saskatoon and nothing brightened the resident's days more than visitors. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Samaritan Place for the kindness and care given to Victoria during her stay there. Funeral Mass to honour Victoria will be held at 10:00am on Friday August 18, 2017 at St. Marks Roman Catholic Church, 581 9th St East, Prince Albert SK with Celebrant, Father D.J. Vu.
