Dwayne Thomas Bird 1970 - 2017 With heavy hearts the family of Dwayne Thomas Bird sadly announce his passing on August 20, 2017 at the age of 47 years. Dwayne was born on August 5, 1970 in Prince Albert to Karen Bird and Albert Rainey. The Wake Services for Dwayne will commence at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Big River First Nation Band Hall with the Funeral Services taking place on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Band Hall followed by Mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Whitefish First Nation. Interment will take place in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery by the river. Dwayne is lovingly survived by his mother Karen Bird; his step mother Gloria Rainey; his adopted children Sabrina and Joana Bill; his siblings, Kevin Bird, Keith Bird, Bobby Rainey, Sheldon Weenonis, Dale Weenonis, Laurie Weenonis, Jennifer Weenonis, Crystal Weenonis and Darlene Keenatch; his uncles James Bear, Mervin Bear, Peter Bear, Tom Rainey and aunties, Mary Ann (Martin) Bear, Grace Bear, Sugil Bear, Doris Bear, Gloria (Tom) Bear, Janet (Fred) Bear, Betsy Bird, Josephine Bird, aswell as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Dwayne is predeceased by his father Albert Rainey; his siblings, Christopher Weenonis, and Adrian C. Weenonis; his paternal grandparents Antoine & Margaret Bear; and Peter and Mary Ann Lachance; and his maternal grandparents, Benny and Mary Bird. The active pallbearers were Brian Dreaver, Michael Dreaver, Emile Rabbitskin, Daniel McAdam, Brian Morin and Brian Bear.
