Obituary of Stanley Roy Monkman

Stanley Roy Monkman January 23, 1940 – November 23, 2017 Stanley Roy Monkman passed away peacefully November 23rd, 2017 with his wife by his side. He was born January 23rd, 1940 to Roy and Beatrice Monkman. He was always a hard worker and “jack of all trades”. There weren’t many things he didn’t know how to do from mechanics to electrical to carpentry he did it all, and if he didn’t know, he would find someone to teach him so he could do it himself. If he built something, it was built to last and usually weighed a ton! Stan was employed by the City of Prince Albert as a heavy equipment operator until he retired in 1994. He loved to travel and go to car shows, concerts, and Princess Auto. He loved going to garage sales and auctions and enjoyed negotiating a bargain! He always had a project going on in the garage where neighbors would gather and discuss world problems. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and his favorite phrase was “you know what you should do…” The past three years, Stan was a resident of Mont St Joseph Care Home. We would like to thank the amazing staff for the wonderful, loving care he received in Country Gardens. I am sure the staff will be missing the call bell he so generously used on a daily basis! He will be missed by his wife of 56 years Addline (Juzkow), daughter Danica (Joe) Jessie, sisters Marie Macfarlane and Lorraine Rodgers, and several nieces and nephews, and his pug Johnnie B. Stan was predeceased by his parents Roy and Beatrice (Cox) Monkman, infant son Anthony, daughter Kelly, and brother-in-law Bud Macfarlane . A private graveside will be held. A Come and Go Celebration of Stan's Life will be held between 1:30pm - 3:30pm at the Prince Albert Elks Lodge 93- 8th Ave East Prince Albert, SK on Saturday, June 2, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Mont St Joseph Foundation or the Prince Albert SPCA. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322. Rest in Peace Stan, life’s work well done.
