Obituary of Lorna Pauline Lapesky
The family of Lorna Lapesky are deeply saddened to announce Lorna's passing on February 8, 2008 at the age of 71 years. She was born on September 14, 1936 to Annie and Peter Paulson in the Rabbit Lake Hospital. Growing up, she shared her home in Spiritwood with her four brothers: Pete, Ben, Bill, and Tom. She was baptized at the Anglican Church and received her education at Tinson School. Lorna worked as a clerk at Smordens store in Spiritwood, and later met Andrew Lapesky at a town fair. They married on December 18th of 1957 and moved to the Lapesky homestead in the Hawkeye District in Shell Lake. There, they had five children together: Anne, Chris, Nick, Garry, and Bernie. They sold the farm in the fall of 1970 and moved to the Olaf Paulson farm in the Spiritwood area. Lorna resided on the farm as the ultimate homemaker and remained as such even after they purchased their home on Memorial Drive in Spiritwood in the year of 2001. In January of 2006, Andrew, passed away, but she still continued to be there for her family and her son, Nick, who resided with her. She lived a simple, but happy life that revolved mostly around her family. She enjoyed riding horses, shopping, playing games, and spending time out at Larson's Lake.
