Obituary of Georgette Rose-Anna Cote

Georgette Cote April 2, 1931 - January 8, 2018 It is with great sadness, that the children of Georgette Rose-Anna Côté announce her passing, on January 8th 2018, at West Country Hearth, in Villeneuve Alberta, at the age of 86. Georgette was born in Cold Lake Alberta, on April 2 1931, where she lived until 1945. At the age of 14, her family moved to Debden, and in 1948 to Spiritwood, where she worked at the hospital. This is where she met Dad. They were married in October of 1949, and had 5 children. They farmed in the Spiritwood area, until Dad’s passing. Mom continued to live in the home that they had built for their retirement, until her health failed. She then moved to Villeneuve the Fall of 2012. Mom was happiest, when she was surrounded by her Family and Friends. She loved to cook and garden, and even though, once we were older, she tried a few odd jobs, she was most content in her role as homemaker, Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma. We can all remember our favourite, dish, dessert, homemade bread and buns,or relish, that she so lovingly made for us. Her Grandchildren always knew that the cookie jar would be full, and her Friends and Family always knew that the coffee pot would be on, when they came to visit. It is so difficult to say goodbye, and we hoped for more precious time together. We know that she is at peace, and that her struggles have ended. Even though she is gone, she has left behind a legacy of support, perseverance and unconditional love. She touched so many lives and will be missed by so many. She was predeceased by her husband Alain, her son Maurice, son in law Chris, parents Omer and Bernadette Compagna, brothers Real and Laurent, sisters, María, Angele, Rosemarie(Gerry) and Lea, In laws, Harry and Gertrude Cote, Alice(Mike), Paul(Ann), Laurette(Victor), Eddy(Theresa), Claire, Leo(Nancy), Gilles(Sylvia), Yvette(Charlie) She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, Her daughters Lorraine(Barry) Warbis and Linda Seale, Her sons Harry and Neil (Val) Grandchildren, Carrie(Evan), Trevor, Tina, Kristin(Kevin), Justin(Lineah), Cole, Vanessa, Lane(Taylor), Michelle, Ami(Aury), Hayley(Michael), and Mia(Kyle) Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Shae, Isabel and Bjorn, Sister Anita (Leonce) Guimond Sisters in law, Marie Compagna, Aline (Roger) Fortin, Brothers in law, Louis Marin, Lee Fischer As well as many Nieces and Nephews. Prayers will be held at The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Spiritwood, on Friday January 19th 2018, at 7:00 p.m. and funeral on Saturday January 20th 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to your favourite Charity.
