Donnie Smith July 1, 1938 - May 4, 2018 Donnie “Don” Smith was born July 1, 1938 at Arelee, SK and passed away May 4, 2018 in Shellbrook, SK at 79 years of age. Don leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Kay, children: Pauline (Ron) Hyde of Saskatoon, SK, Brent Smith of North Battleford, SK, Karen (Dale) Schmidt of Saskatoon, SK, grandchildren: Vicky Hyde (Cory Roy), Trevor Hyde, Krystina Schmidt, brother, Lyal (Joan) Smith of North Battleford, SK, sister, Shirley Watt of Milden, SK also numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave and Kate Smith and son, Herbert in infancy. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Chitek Lake Community Hall, Chitek Lake, SK with Delores Beaulac officiating. During the service Don’s daughter Karen shared a poem and his granddaughters Vicky and Krystina shared memories of their grandfather, the Urn Bearers were Ron Hyde, Trevor Hyde, Cory Roy and Dale Schmidt. Don’s Final Resting Place is in the Peaceful Pines Cemetery, Chitek Lake, SK. Following the interment, the family invited all present for lunch and fellowship in the hall.
