John "Joker" Shynkaruk November 4, 1924 - August 31, 2018 John “Joker” Shynkaruk was born Nov. 4, 1924, Wakaw, SK and passed away Aug. 31, 2018, Spiritwood, SK at 93 years of age. John is lovingly remembered by: his children: Norman (Tia) Shynkaruk of Shell Lake, SK and their family: Aaron and Nica, Hal (Marian) Shynkaruk of Shell Lake, SK and their family: Tony, Amanda (Keith), Michael and Trevor, Noreen (Kurt) Reed of Shell Lake, SK and their family: Bryce (Rachelle), Taylor, Lane (Tara) and Dylan, great grandchildren: Emma, Shelby, Danika, Daxton, Remi and Logan, sisters: Annie Papp and Jean Seaborn, sister-in-law, Frances Shinkaruk also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is predeceased by: his loving wife, Violet Shynkaruk (nee: Fraser), his parents, William and Mary Shynkaruk (nee: Lepitski), his brothers, Edward, Stan, Ted, Isadore, George, Willie, Mike and Steve. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Lion’s Community Hall, Shell Lake, SK with Rev. David Jensen officiating. Readings were read by Amanda Shynkaruk and Loralie Shinkarok also tributes to John were given by Noreen Reed and Aaron Shynkaruk a eulogy was also given by Henry Gutting, Gilles Francouer provided music for the service, Aaron Shynkaruk, Bryce Reed, Michael Shynkaruk, Lane Reed, Tony Shynkaruk, Taylor Reed, Trevor Shynkaruk and Dylan Reed served as Casket Bearers. All those who shared in John’s life were considered Honorary Pallbearers. Interment took place in the Shell Lake Cemetery. Immediately following the services, all were invited to a time for lunch and fellowship in the Lion’s Hall. Memorial Donations may be made to Telemiracle Foundations or Spiritwood Long Term Care—Recreation Dept. in memory of John “Joker” Shynkaruk as tokens of remembrance.
