Obituary of Brian Clarence Finlay
The family of Brian Finlay are deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing on April 17, 2008 at the age of 50 years. Brian Clarence Finlay was born on August 21, 1957, in Vanguard, Saskatchewan. He was the son of Clarence and Rita Finlay. In the summer of 1976, Brian met his loving wife Hilda. They married on July 30, 1977. They had one daughter, Wendy. Brian farmed for most of his life, but also spent some time driving truck both for himself and for other companies. In 2005, he got a job working for the R.M. of Meeting Lake. He enjoyed both his job and his coworkers and he enjoyed the fact that he was home with his wife every night. Brian was a kind, caring, loving family man. He was a very devoted husband and he was always proud of his daughter. He loved spending time with his brother Ron and sister-in-law Mary Ann and their children and grandchildren. Brian also enjoyed spending time with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gordon and Shirley Weenk and their family. He had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed a good laugh at any time. Brian didn't even mind if the laughter was directed at him sometimes. He had many hobbies and interests. In his younger years, Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing. He always enjoyed woodworking and built several pieces of furniture in his home. In the last few years, Brian enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his yard and garden. He loved to cook meals for his family. Brian enjoyed helping Hilda upholster furniture, and was always amazed at how something that was old could look just like new when they were finished with it. His final and unfinished project was carving a bear from a large tree trunk that he hauled into the yard. He was carving it with his chainsaw and side grinder. On the morning of April 17, 2008, Brian passed away very suddenly with his wife Hilda at his side. Brian, we will always love you and never forget the wonderful, loving person that you were. So until we meet again, good bye for now. Love, your family.
