Obituary of Leonard Silzer
It is with great sadness that the family of Leonard Silzer announces his sudden passing on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 67 years. Leonard was born on November 27, 1949 in Limerick, SK. At age 17, Len began his studies to become a Psyche nurse. He graduated in 1961 and from 1961 to 1974 he was employed at the Weyburn Mental Hospital, followed by employment at Prince Albert Psych Centre. Len purchased farm land in 1971 and operated additional farm and ranch land until semi-retirement in 2002. Len is lovingly remembered by his loving wife Gladys Silzer; his sisters Ann (Harry) Rogers of Edmonton, AB and Emma Boghean of Limerick, SK; his brothers Ernie (Evelyn) Silzer of Moose Jaw, SK, William (Marcella) Silzer of Limerick, SK and Ray (Beth) Silzer of Regina, SK; his brother in-law George (Lydia) Kram of La Ronge, SK, his special nephew Gary Kram and his children Rebecca, Emily and Andrew; his special niece Sharon (Rick) Wright as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. Len was predeceased by his parents John Paul and Caroline Silzer, his brother Albert Silzer, his sister Margaret Averill and his in-laws Theresa and Joe Kram. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 29th, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Debden Community Hall with Eugene Lalonde and Andy Cyr officiating the services. The eulogy was read by Ray Silzer and Sharon Wright did a reading. The soloists were Laurna Parent and Emile Tetreault. The honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Leonard's life. The active pall bearers were Eugene Lalonde, Dan Jean, Bob Gerow, Guy Cyr, Jules Couture and Andy Cyr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Debden Doctor's Clinic. Leonard was laid to rest in the Silzer Cemetery.
