1936 - 2019
Creston Joseph Story passed away suddenly on March 20, 2019 at Shellbrook, SK. Funeral Service was held on Monday, March 25th, 2019 at the Civic Centre in Spiritwood, SK, Pastor Jerry Zak officiated. Barb Szasz sang Amazing Grace accompanied by Anne Zak on the piano. Pastor Rick Martin sang a selection of Creston’s favorite hymns. Pastor Floyd Berg gave a very fitting eulogy and Neil Teskey, good friend and neighbor had the honor of being the urn bearer. Creston was a quiet, patient, thoughtful man, who loved learning and loved the land he farmed. Creston was a kind and loving man to his wife of 61 years, Rose, to his children and grandchildren and all of his family, to his friends and neighbors as well. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Creston was a community man, serving as a Saskatchewan wheat pool delegate for 29 years, a 4H member and leader for 27 years, meeting secretary for the Spiritwood Co-op for 40 years and a Ranger Hall member for 50 years. Creston will be laid to rest in the Ranger Cemetery at a later date. Creston is lovingly remembered by: his loving wife of 61 years, Rose, his children: David Creston (Karen) Story and sons; Matthew Jordan and Joshua David; Barbara Rose Story (Dennis Todor) and family; Cherie Roseanne (Tanner) Stewart and children; Clark Alexander and Quinn Amelia; Dawnmarie Caralynn Rice and Sean Mark Patrick Rice; Joseph Steven (Melissa) Story and children; Hunter Erik Harold Matte and Ruby Marie Story, his brother, Robert Gordon Story, his brothers-in-law Steve, Paul and Eddie (Donna) Lutz, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family. He is predeceased by: his parents, Kathleen and Creston M. Story, his baby boy in infancy, his brother and sister-in-law, William John and Anne Story, his parents-in-law, Steve and Emma Lutz, his sisters-in-law, Elaine Story and Rosetta Lutz. In Lieu of flowers Memorial donations in Creston’s memory may be directed to the Ranger Hall and/or Ranger Cemetery.
