Obituary of Roger Corriveau

Roger Edgar Corriveau 1956 – 2019 Surrounded by family and friends, it was with heavy hearts we said goodbye on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Roger was born in Prince Albert, SK on July 22, 1956. He grew up on the family farm just outside of Albertville and attended school in Albertville, St. Louis and Meath Park. Except for a brief period in Edmonton, and many nights in his truck on the road, Roger lived his entire life on the farm. In 1980, Roger married Margie and together they farmed and raised their four children. Roger farmed his entire life and funded this addiction/habit by driving truck. In his trucking career, Roger hauled many different things including logs, grain, cattle, tankers as well as van and deck trailers. Throughout his life, Roger volunteered on many boards and committees, his favorite being the Northern Fringe Marketing Club. When he wasn’t working, Roger participated in almost every sport and also spent time coaching. He spent much of his free time travelling around for his children’s various activities. He also had a passion for motorcycles in his younger days and was a lifelong snowmobile enthusiast. From family events to gatherings with friends, Roger loved socializing with people. In the summer, Roger loved to camp and spend time on the water, while in more recent years, he enjoyed winter holidays down south. The last five years for Roger were challenging, with various health issues impacting him. Throughout his struggle, Roger particularly treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. In the end, Roger was blessed with the gift of being surrounded by friends and family as he passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home. Roger always felt fortunate to have so many good friends. Roger leaves behind his wife of almost 39 years, Margie (nee Erickson); four children: Jason with daughters, Samantha and Erica; Allison (Ryan) Sayers; Aimee (David) Schmirler with children, Oliver, Emilee and Isabelle; Jeremy (Chelsea Reid) with children, Chloe, Mitia and Seth; and siblings: sister-in-law: Louise Corriveau; Simone (Marcel) Brassard; Denis (Cheryl) Corriveau; Denise (Colin) Cloarec; numerous nieces and nephews as well as Margie’s mother: Cleila Erickson; sisters: Shirley (Dwight) Sawatzky and Donna (Henri) Gignac and grandmother: Grace Erickson. Roger was predeceased by his parents: Gerald and Marie; brother: Alfred; and father-in-law: Elmer Erickson. Roger’s family wishes to thank all of our family and friends as well as Dr. Cecil and Yogi Hammond, the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and Prince Albert Home Care for all the care and support throughout.
