She was born to Clifford and Leona (nee:Isbister) Ahenakew on March 11, 1963. The wake service for Carmen started at 5:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the same location with Burton Ahenakew officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery.
