Obituary of Rose-Marie "Lilly" Watt
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rose-Marie "Lilly" Watt . Lilly passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday December 15th, 2019 at the age of 64. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. We have undying gratitude that she was a part of our lives. She had a heart of gold, a will of steel and a love of life. Lilly was born November 30, 1955, to Louise and Alphe Lavoie. She grew up on the family farm near Albertville, with her 3 brothers and 1 sister. Growing up on the farm was always busy, but always full of fun and love. Lilly gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Christine, in 1974. She worked hard and was a devoted mother. Lilly then found the love of her life, Mike Watt. Together she and Mike had many adventures, moving from Prince Albert to Lloydminster and then to Dauphin, Manitoba, where they built a beautiful log home and started a tree farm. In 1988, Lilly and Mike got their son they had dreamed of, Zachary. Once again Lilly was eager to be a loving mom. Later one more move brought them closer to family, to their acreage near Northside. Again they built a beautiful log home which Lilly cherished. She worked alongside of Mike with his log building business when she could. She also had her career as a Continuing Care Assistant, and at the end of her working career she worked for Parks Canada in beautiful Waskesiu, which she enjoyed very much. She had the strongest work ethic. She was a hard worker and often was nicknamed the energizer bunny at work. Always busy at home cooking and cleaning and doing yard work. She loved going for walks, car and boat rides, out to movies and concerts, family gatherings, and going out for breakfast was always a welcome treat. She had a huge compassion for others, and she loved a good laugh. She always managed to make time for a coffee and a smoke with her dog Misty by her side. She and her sister had a very strong bond, and spent as much time together a possible. Lilly was our rock as she dealt with her disease with grace, and she never complained. Lilly was predeceased by: her father Alphe Lavoie, her mother Louise (nee Gaudet); her brother, Ronald; her father-in-law, Hugo Watt; and mother-in-law, Pearl Watt. Her loving family left to mourn her passing are: her husband Mike; daughter, Christine (Kevin) Peters; her granddaughter, Ashton; and her son, Zachary. Also left to mourn are: her brothers, George (Rhea) Lavoie and Bert (Colleen) Lavoie; her sister, Rita (Glenn) Mills; sister-in-law, Yvette Lavoie, and sister-in-law Judy (Murray) Dickie; her brothers-in-law, John Watt, Jim (Sandy) Watt, Bill (Kelly) Watt, Brian Watt, and Rusty (Colleen) Watt, along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday December 21st, 2019, at St. Mary’s RC Church, Christopher Lake, SK, with Father DJ Vu as Celebrant. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Lilly may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
