Obituary of Chris LaFaver
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christopher “Chris” Dale LaFaver, of Candle Lake, SK on June 1, 2020, at the age of 46 years.
Chris was born on December 15, 1973 in Nipawin, SK. He was raised in Meath Park and attended school there. He was a happy typical boy that loved to have fun with his friends. He spent many days with his Grandpa and Uncles fishing and working on vehicles. When Chris’ Dad passed away, he stepped up to become the man of the family and took care of his Mother and Sister. He had a special bond with his Grandmother and was the first to tell you he was her favorite. Chris made many friends in his places of work at Ben’s Auto Glass, Sask Penn and the Resort Village of Candle Lake. Chris was a jack of all trades, there was nothing he couldn’t do or fix. He touched many hearts over the years.
In 2007, Chris married the love of his life, Amanda Aramenko. Chris and Amanda were blessed with the birth of their son George in 2010. His family meant everything to him. He was the best Husband and Father taking them fishing, quading, and snowmobiling. They resided in Candle Lake but loved to go to the family farm in Foxford where they spent lots of great times with many friends.
Chris had a smile and presence that lit up the room. His humour and stories always had everyone laughing. His love of hunting and fishing was a huge part of his life, which he spent many hours in Bennetts swamp with Clint and the rest of his hunting buddies. Chris and Amanda worked very hard at their butcher shop as well as organizing the Foxford Snowmobile and Quad Rallys, which Chris took great pride in. He had a passion for GTO’s from a young age and had purchased a Road Runner for George that he was going to restore with him. Chris was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Amanda; his son: George; his mother and step-father: Debbie and Clinton Mauthe; his sister: Candice LaFaver; his parents-in-law: George and Liz Aramenko and many family members and friends.
Chris was predeceased by his father: Larry LaFaver; his grandparents: Dora and Michael Belzevick; and his step-father: Raymond Belanger.
A Private Service will be held for the family on June 8, 2020 , at 1:30 pm at the Candle Lake Recreation Hall. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date for all to attend.
