Dear Elaine, the world has lost a great friend but Heaven is the winner. Elmer worked for my Dad Jack Heffernan when Elmer was a teen-ager and my many brothers and I loved him dearly. I still tell my wife Elmer quotables - he had such a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around.

Our Sincerest Condolences Elaine to you & your family. Elmer worked for our Dad before he went to work for your Mom. Every day I would watch Sharon roll his cigarettes in his cigarette machine (which was a Novelty) so when he came in from the field his supply would be all ready for him the next day! You & Elmer were a great couple! Our thoughts are with you at this sad time! Marcia & Brian Lysitza, Sharon, Allan, David & Rory Hadland

Dear Elaine, Paul and Kathleen and all your family.....Elmer was that shining light in our lives, if the tire was flat or the motor didn't want to start, lets ask Elmer to look at it. He delivered us fuel and we could count on a smile on his face, always the same warm and friendly fellow. We last visited with him at the stock yards in PA. Hold tight to your wonderful memories.
Lyle and Darlene Poley and our whole family.

I remember Elmer as quite a character...always smiling, laughing and always a friendly hello.
One vivid memory I have of him is an encounter I had with him at the nuisance grounds. I was building the Weldon New Life Center and one night before leaving for home, I loaded up my half ton with cardboard, lumber and plywood scraps, etc.
As it was a calm day, I decided to burn everything.
Then, along comes Elmer with the Co-op garbage wagon. He proceeded to throw his garbage into the fire. Unbeknownst to me, his garbage included an old propane bottle. He proceeded to pull away from the fire a ways and got out of his truck and we talked. Well, when that propane tank exploded, I thought a bomb went off. Holy %$#@!!
Elmer simply got in his truck and drove away laughing hysterically...
Thanks for the memories Elmer....you were a good man!!
My sincere condolences to you and your family Elaine...
