We were saddened to hear of Ernie's passing and our thoughts are with you.
We certainly appreciated our association with Ernie in East End activities and times we would see him at Candle Lake. He was one of the people you meet in your lifetime that you never forget!

Dear Lorraine and family, I am sure that with Ernie's passing it has left a sense of vacancy in your lives. He had a way of making things lively and enjoyable. I worked with him at Natonum Community Callege (then became part of SIAST) for many years. We were co-workers as program coordinators. He knew how to enjoy life and his positive attitude was appreciated in the work place.

Dear Lorraine and family. Donna and I are saddened to learn of Ernie’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in these difficult days. We know the many memories of Ernie’s amazing life will bring comfort and hopefully joy in the midst of your sadness. Ernie was truly one of the “good guys”. It was a privilege to work with him at Natonum, and to see his love and commitment for education and the people we served first hand. His totally positive attitude was contagious and made being part of the Natonum family fun!
Rest well my friend.

Auntie Lorraine, Glen & Margret and Lorne & Kelsey, Joanne, I am so sorry for your loss! I have so many good memories of spending time with your family whether it was on Grandma and Grandpa's farm (first and only time hunting with the boys) or at your cabin! Uncle Ernie taught me and my sisters to water ski and was always patient and kind with us! There are too many memories to list here. I am sorry we cannot join you tomorrow in celebrating his wonderful life, but know that we will be thinking of you and sharing memories.

I first met Ernie when we played in the City Band not only did he share his gift and love of music with the band but continued at St. Mark’s, where his saxophone echoed to the heavens. Ernie’s devotion to St. Mark, always there to help out a friend and his fresh fish will always be remembered.
To Lorraine and family, I pray that the sun shines tomorrow, the funeral mass, support from your church family and friends will provide you with the blessings to continue on with your grief journey. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kendall Kerr - President, Northern Waters Flyfishers posted a condolence
Thursday, April 29, 2021
Ernie was a long time member of the Northern Waters Flyfishers who was more than willing to step in and help out whenever he could. Whether it was teaching youth groups how to tie the Wooly Bugger, tying more than his share of flies for the club’s fly boxes or the countless hours he spent at the Nisbet Trout Pond teaching others how to fly fish. Ernie’s stories about his adventures, his easy going fishing style and infectious enthusiasm for fishing and life in general will be greatly missed. However his spirit will continue to live with those who had the pleasure to spend time with him.

My deepest condolences to Lorraine , Glen and Lorne. Ernie was an outstanding man and father, extremely caring and compassionate and understanding.
Not only was he an outstanding family man but he extended those qualities to others that were lucky enough to be part of the circle of friends and community members that Ernie and his family welcomed into their home and activities.
Ernie's life and experience and knowledge will continue on forever in generations to come.
Ernie will always be remembered and especially when enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
