Obituary of Bradley Schmalz

Bradley Schmalz passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the age of 48. Bradley grew up in Shellbrook, where he attended school, and could always be found helping on the farm. He was a very good minor youth hockey player. Brad was a hard worker. After high school he began working in construction framing houses. Later he went to work with his cousins and uncle on the pipeline as a boom operator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and always knew the right spots to find the next catch. Brad loved living on the farm and all the work that went with it – cutting grass and trees and growing a garden. And he was an exceptional cook. He was a kind and generous person who would give you the shirt off his back. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Colby; his mom, Debbie Schmalz (Garth Lefebvre); his sister, Shauna (Chad) Collier, and their children Alexis, Aliyah and Addison; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his Dad, Wilfred Schmalz; his daughter, Kayla; and his grandparents, Olive and John Morrison, and Wanda and Louis Schmalz. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brad’s memory may be made to STARS Air Ambulance - https://foundation.stars.ca/AB-tributegift, or the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation - 9 Lancaster Road, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 1M8.
