Obituary of Linda Halcro
Linda Halcro
Oct 6, 1947 - Jan 17, 2020
Linda was born in Prince Albert, SK, and grew up on the family farm in the Halcro District near St. Louis. She followed her brother (Joseph) Lawrence to Winnipeg in the late 1960s where she lived out the rest of her life. She attended beauty school and had a long career as a hairdresser. She loved cats and was always surrounded by at least one cat. Linda maintained close relationships to those that took the time to know her. There was no such thing as a short phone call with Linda. You could spend hours talking to her on the phone and at the end of the call, you always learned more about yourself than you did about Linda. She loved her Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bombers, and PA Raiders. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her friends, family, and neighbors. Linda was survived at the time of her death by her sisters: Beulah Receveur, Delores Walls, Inez Friesen and Ruth James, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her cat, Minnie. She was predeceased by her parents: John & Mae (Mary Ann) Halcro, her brothers, (John) Wesley Halcro & (Joseph) Lawrence Halcro; her sister, Kathleen McGregor; and her special friend, Charles Matheson. Linda was loved and will be missed by everyone and every cat that encountered her. A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Kin Enterprises Inc., 457 40th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will follow at St. Andrews (Halcro) Cemetery. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.
