Mrs. Arlene Macdonald 1943 - 2009 It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Macdonald who passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at the age of 65. Arlene was born Wednesday July 7, 1943 @ 1:15 pm at the Canwood Nursing Home. She was the eldest daughter and second of seven children of Alex and Esther (Weaver) Anderson. She enjoyed picnics, picking berries, pulled taffy, homemade ice cream and her family. Arlene married Doug Macdonald November 10, 1960 and moved to La Ronge where they resided until July 1998 when they moved to Shellbrook, closer to their family. In 1961 their daughter, Michelle was born. Arlene enjoyed her work at Angler's Inn and later at Red's Camp. Her and Doug were involved with the Royal Purple and the Elk's and helped build and maintain the Elk's Hall in La Ronge. She enjoyed boating (Mooney Bay), snowmobiling, entertaining, playing cards and their cabin at Waden Bay. Doug and Arlene enjoyed many wonderful vacations with friends and family and for a few years winter in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
