Mary Ann "Marion" Paton

1936 - 2021

Mary Ann Paton late of Saskatoon, formerly of Shellbrook, SK, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in the Extendicare Preston Care Home in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 85 years. 

Marion was born to Bertha and Jacob Gollinger on May 28, 1936 in Lemberg, SK.

Marion married Lewis Paton on March 3, 1956, in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. She worked as a cook at Husky & Big Way in Shellbrook for 18 1/2 years. She resided in Shellbrook from 1961 - 2012. After that, she resided in care homes in St. Louis, Warman, and Saskatoon till her passing.

Mom loved to camp, plant her flowers and spend time outside on her deck drinking her coffee.

Marion will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her and shared in her life's journey.

Marion was predeceased by her parents, Bertha & Jacob Gollinger; her husband, Lewis Paton; and her 6 siblings.

She is lovingly survived by a sister, Shirley (Chuck) Huston; her children, Allan (Cheri) Paton, Lonnie (Allison) Paton, Ronald (Diane) Paton, Dwight (Vivianne) Paton, Dawn (Alain) Fontaine, and Carol Paton; her 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Darlene Gollinger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

There was a Private Family Graveside Service held for Marion at the Shellbrook Cemetery.

In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mary Ann to the Shellbrook & Districts Health Services Foundation (Box 33 Shellbrook, SK S0J 2E0).
