Elzear Primeau, a man of many talents wasn’t one to bring attention to himself. He rather liked to remain in the background. He was a man with a grade 3 education because when young, had to quit school to help out at home. He was from a large family. Elzear was a kind and generous soul. He was quiet spoken. Elzear would help his neighbors whenever needed. He was a man with a vision. If he could visualize it, he could build it. He made a bale hauler, press drill, which he made from the rear end of an old truck. He manufactured a steel press which is still in operation today. He was also a wood worker, having made a few spinning wheels, large and small. He also made a wood splitter out of an old baler. Elzear with his talents, actually would recycle many things and reinvent them into something new. This man loved music. He played the fiddle and other instruments, but the fiddle was his specialty. When Elzear played the Orange Blossom Special, people would stop dancing and listen as he made that fiddle sing. They’d holler for encore, and he would play it again. Elzear loved his family very much. His grandchildren were special to him. The twins would sit on the arms of his big chair and watch TV with him. Memories they will cherish forever. Elzear loved to visit with friends. He enjoyed fishing trips with Ed Watier. He’d have a bit of a rest and go back out fishing. He said those were the best times. Elzear didn’t smoke or drink, although having to move cows, caused him to swear once in a while. Elzear was a kind, gentle and humble soul which will be missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
