Obituary of Funeral Notice for the late Albert Crossland
CROSSLAND: It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of Albert Crossland on August 3, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Albert worked many jobs throughout his life, an agent for the Searle Elevator, and owned and operated Crossland Coachways. Albert also worked for Woodland Enterprises as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. After his retirement, Albert and Eva spent many winters in Texas. Albert was an avid outdoorsman, he was an accomplished fisherman and a successful hunter, he also took tremendous pride in his garden. Albert enjoyed the company of family, friends and relatives especially loved a good game of cards. Left to cherish his memory is his is loving wife of 55 years, Eva Crossland, his daughters Sylvia Orieux, Pauline (Bob) Thiel, and his grandchildren Claudelle Orieux (Don Calkins), Vince Orieux (Wendy), Rod Orieux (Karla), Nadine (Tim) Bryant, Cindy Thiel (Treana) and Kevin Thiel and great grandchildren Colton, Alyx, Carter and Riley Orieux, Dustyn, Brandon and Ryan Prkusic, Dillon and Jake Orieux, Anna and Ashton Bryant, and Stephen Peesker, his sisters Irene Grimard, Edna Bruneau, Evelyn Paquette, Alice Paquette and Marguerite Lavin as well as numerous sisters and brothers in-law, nieces,nephews, friends and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Lena Crossland, his son in-law Gerry Orieux, his great grandson Samuel Thiel-Tuchscherer, his sisters Therese and Cecilia and his brothers Aime, Rene, Alex, George and Alfred. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the St. Therese R.C. Church, Leoville, SK with Rev. Fr. Francis Agbezuge as celebrant, the cross bearer was Edward Crossland, music was directed by Phil Marion with Gilles Francoeur as the soloist, the eulogy was read by his grandchildren Rod and Vince Orieux, the readers were Karla Orieux & Wendy Orieux, the offertory was taken by Adele Craswell, Suzanne Poulin & Marilyn Booker, the Honorary Pallbearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Albert's life, the Pallbearers were Claudelle Orieux, Vince Orieux, Rod Orieux, Nadine Bryant, Cindy Thiel and Kevin Thiel. Albert was laid to rest in the Peaceful Pines Cemetery. Memorial donations mat be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan 279-3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, Sk, S7K 2H8.
