Clarence “Ole” Thoresen

Clarence “Ole” Thoresen passed away peacefully in Prince Albert on May 15, 2022 . Ole will always be lovingly remembered by his sister Julie; nephews Allen (Jane), John (Jan), Ben (Sam), and Bruce (Lynn); nephew Randy (Val); niece Karen; niece Sandra; nephews David (Leesa) and Gary; nieces Wendy (Jack), Wanda (Tim) and Marcy (Kevin); nephew Darren (Charlene); nieces Kelly (Deanna) and Keri (Kelly); niece Karen (Maurice); and nephews John (Terry) and Peter. He will also be remembered by his great nieces and nephews Jamie, Chad, David, Ashton, Bryson, Riley, Michael, Sarah, Jadine, Troy , Jocelyn, Corrie, Shae, Kaitlin, Jenna, John, Tim, Willem, Katherine, Lauren, Ian, Tristan, Shelby, Brooklyn, Logan, Coleton Caitlyn, Holden, Paige, Preston, Andrew, Cadence and Emmitt; and great nephews and nieces Jayce, Chloe, Liam, Michael, Arlo and Millie.

Ole was predeceased by the love of his life his wife of 58 years Joan; his parents Juliette and Adolf; his sisters Alma “Sis” and Lorraine “Toots”; and his brothers Lorne “Toby” and Conrad “Pee Wee”.

Ole was born in Prince Albert on December 2, 1934 and grew up in Steep Creek.   He worked for many years at Saskatchewan Transportation and retired as the supervisor of the service garage.

Ole and Joan followed their dream and purchased a farm in the 1970’s.  Ole was a natural farmer.  They successfully operated a mixed farm operation for many years. 

He loved to be with family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone in need.  He could be counted on to help fix a car or to do home renovations.  He loved to fish and even had a custom-made boat. He was also an avid hunter.  He and Joan could often be found spending a leisurely day on a nearby lake. 

Ole was an avid hockey fan and loved to cheer on his nephews and great nephews and nieces.   He was a huge Raiders fan.  He had the best sense of humour and was a natural prankster always bringing a smile to family and friends.

After leaving the farm Ole moved into Prince Albert to Points West.  He made many new friends there and even renewed old friendships.  He was appreciated there for his sense of humour - even entering a talent show and becoming a shuffleboard champion.    

Ole loved to hear about the many adventures of his great nephews and nieces AND great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Calvary United Church, 114 25^th Street East, Prince Albert, SK.
