Obituary of Garnet James Johnstone
Garnet James Johnstone “Garney-Winky"
1938-2022
It is with a very broken heart I write this years too soon. Garnet passed away May 15th at 9:27 A.M. from a massive stroke. He was a wonderful man, kind and so caring. He leaves to mourn, the love of his life and his best friend of 49 wonderful years, Belinda. Also his family David – Victoria BC, Kim and Darwin – North Battleford, Shannon and Allistair – Saskatoon.
He started working at an early age at Scott National then Old Dutch on to STC for 35 years. Then he went on to PA Northern for 11 years until ill health took his love of driving away. He was so very proud of his son and his accomplishments. The girls did not reside with us. He was such a wonderful husband and father, he was taken too soon. Our love goes with you as you get your wings, my love. We miss you and love you.
“Do not be sad I have left, but he happy I was here.”
A private graveside service will be held. Family will be with him as he is put to rest.
In lieu of tributes, donations in Garnet’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (2300 Youge St. Suite 1200, Box 2413 Toronto ON M4P 1E4) and the Rose Garden Hospice. (PO Box 2092, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 1E0).
